Requirements and Facility Rules for New Clients

.) Your dog must not have any history of aggression towards other dogs or people in an off leash play situation.

.) Your dog must have current rabies, DHPP (distemper combination) and bordetella (or CIRD) vaccinations for at least one week before Orientation Day. Any initial series of vaccinations must also be complete.  We accept titer tests in place of DHPP or rabies vaccinations.  Titer test documents must show that your dog has sufficient immunity and needs to have a retest date.   Other vaccinations, such as Canine Influenza and Leptospirosis are strongly recommended, but not required.  Please talk to your veterinarian about the best vaccination strategy for your dog.

.) Must have a quick release buckle collar with your dog's first and last name.  If you don't have one, a loaner collar will be provided.  On your second visit, you can order a complimentary embroidered collar that meets these requirements in an awesome color combination of your choice!

.) Must be between 16 weeks and 11 years of age on Orientation Day.  Existing clients over the age of 11 are welcome!

.) Must be spayed or neutered if 8 months of age or older.

.) Must be at least 15 pounds and not over 130 pounds.

.) Must play nice with other dogs around toys, food and new people.

.) We LOVE dogs!  All dogs!  Unfortunately, our insurance provider will not allow the following breeds or mixes of the following breeds: American Staffordshire Terrier, Pit Bull Terrier, Akita, Akita Inu, American Bulldog, English Bulldog, Bull Terrier, Mini Bull Terrier, Blue Paul Terrier, Anatolian Shepherd, Caucasian Shepherd, Alapaha Bulldog, Bull Mastiff, Neapolitan Mastiff, Tibetan Mastiff, Dogue De Bordeaux, Dogo Argentino, Ca De Bou, Fila Brasileiro, Tosa Inu, Cane Corso, Alano Espanol, Boerboel, Presa Canario, Broholmer, American Bandogge, Gull Dong, Kangal Dog, Sage Koocheel, Gull Terrier, Gull Dong, Wolf Hybrid.  French Bulldogs and French Bulldog mixes are acceptable. Additionally, we cannot accept Great Danes due to the great risk of "bloat" or Greyhounds/Italian Greyhounds due to exceptionally fragile skin and bones.

.) The following health conditions make it unsafe for your dog to play with us: total blindness, severe or uncontrolled seizures, diabetes, cardiomyopathy, Addison's disease, bloat/gastric torsion, more than one leg amputation, exercise induced collapse or any other major or life threatening health problem or problem that prevents your dog from safely playing with other dogs in a group situation.  Unfortunately, for insurance reasons, we cannot give injections.

.) Bandages, cones, stitches, booties/socks, bandanas, bows, flea/tick collars and similar items will be eaten by other dogs and are not allowed.

.) A topical or chewable flea and tick preventative such as Frontline, Bravecto, or NexGard is required. A flea/tick collar won't be sufficient.  It will be eaten by the other dogs.

.) Dogs found to have puppy warts, kennel cough, worms, fleas, parasites, frequent or liquid diarrhea, vomiting or any other potentially contagious condition, illness or injury will be isolated in a kennel in our Caribbean Cafe. We will then contact the owner(s) to determine the best course of action.  If an owner cannot be reached, the dog may be taken for treatment by a veterinarian at the owner's expense.

.) Dogs who are behaving in a cranky or out of control manner will be kennelled in our Caribbean Cafe for a time out.

.) Dogs who are endangering the safety of themselves or others will be kennelled in our Caribbean Cafe and the parents will be contacted.  Dogs misbehaving in Slumber Bay overnight will be kennelled in our Carribean Cafe until the morning.

.)  Dogs exhibiting these behaviors may be asked to not come back: Aggressive or dangerous behavior towards other dogs or staff, excessively rough play, excessive barking or whining, excessive humping or any other disruptive behaviors. Staff will inform you if these behaviors are seen and will discuss options with you.

.)  The owner is responsible for injury or illness, including contagious illness.
